The Cow and the Tiger
Have you heard of the weird story of a cow and a tiger being married? This was told to me years ago and recently I got reminded of it.
In case you don't know about it...
A cow and a tiger were married. For some reason, instead of killing the cow on instinct, the tiger stayed with her.
The cow fed the tiger grass and milk that she produced. Over time, the tiger became weaker and weaker, and after a while, the tiger died.
The moral is that even though well-intentioned, some limitations and boundaries just can't be changed.
Why did I bring this up?
As some of you know, 2024 and the past few years haven't been my best years.
Along the way, I've had incredible friends and connections like you reaching out and offering advice, opportunities, and solutions.
And I'm truly grateful for that.
But like the tiger and the cow, not every well-meaning suggestion is suitable. Some opportunities don't align with who I am, how I work, or where I see myself heading.
It's not about pride or stubbornness, it's about knowing what strengthens and what weakens me.
I appreciate the help and encouragement, but at the end of the day, I have to stay true to myself.
You probably know another famous saying...
"Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime."
Well, I have been eating ikan bilis (small, dried anchovies) for a long while and I'm getting too salty over it. Don't tell me I need to learn to fish, man, I'm friggin' starving now.
Anyway... I'm not calling you cows and I'm not saying I'm a tiger.
The story reminds me that staying true to myself isn't just about survival ... it's about thriving. And maybe milk and grass tastes better with some beef. I kid. Don't moo me.
To those who've reached out, thank you.
Your kindness and support mean a lot to me, even if I choose a different direction and didn't take your advice.
To those who gave me financial help, thank you. You chose to give out of abundance from your heart (and wallet), and I pray you receive greater blessings so you can continue to bless others.
I'll #KeepTryingUntil I reach my goals, I'll keep learning, and keep moving forward. Because my journey isn't over, and I still have so much more to go.
