Recovered Too Late, I Missed The Creator's Summit

2 min read8

Yesterday, I checked and I was clear - I've recovered from COVID.

Thanks to those who sent their well-wishes!

BUT...

I completely missed out on the 2 day meet for creators.

I'm glad, though, I was able to recover in time to meet up with my students who flew in for the Summit - Joan Lim and Masthur (and his daughter, Cindy)

One of the things that came up was talking about…

The rich getting richer, and the poor getting poorer

And how people who are in poverty can, with the right education, can become wealthy

To which, I replied... it wasn't as easy as that.

To further explain, I came up with the analogy that the broke are like people who are drowning.

They don't have the time to get educated on how to swim, they're literally drowning. Money that comes in will not be spent wisely as they are desperately trying to stay alive. The rich are in a position where they can make calm decisions on what to do with their money.

So, it's not that the broke doesn't want to get out of poverty... Many factors can cause that person to stay in a position of lack, against that person's will.

The struggle is real.

And then after that, we talked about a bunch of other stuff on content creation and about what they learned from past few days.

I briefly showed them some places nearby before they had to leave.

After that, I bought 2 books to build up my shelf-esteem from a second-hand bookstore at Bras Basah.

Couldn't get a copy of the book I wanted, but that's the fun thing about coming to this bookstore... I randomly browse around until I see something that catches my eye.

Now, to add these 2 books to the other books I have in my room that I haven't read.

The struggle is real 😂

I do hope, though, the next time Nas Summit comes to Singapore - I can attend and perhaps, even be one of the speakers.

One can dream.
