After 119 Days, My Brother Is Finally Home

After 119 days, almost 4 months... My brother is finally home!

He had a fall on Dec 23rd 2022 resulting in a second stroke. He was transferred to several hospitals and then to Sengkang Community Hospital. Which is 1.5 hours away. Meaning... 3 hours to and fro each time I visited him.

My mom went almost every day after work, she 100% deserves the warrior award.

He was supposed to only stay a week but in the end, it became a really long extended month.

We had already gotten a caregiver approved but just before she was supposed to fly over, she failed her medical test. She had a miscarriage. We can either wait 2 weeks or look for another caregiver.

We decided to go for another caregiver and I ended up choosing a male caregiver because most female caregivers would have a hard time moving my brother. I didn't know getting a male caregiver is a rare thing apparently.

But that process took a long time, almost a month. My brother was "wasting away" because I could see his physical and mental state deteriorate. I was definitely in a hurry to get him home as soon as possible to recover.

After countless calls to the Ministry of Manpower, with the help of assisting doctors from various hospitals and the agency Top Faith Pte. Ltd., he is finally home to recover.

It's a new journey from here, it's not over yet. But, he's home.
