I Wish This Photo Never Happened...

2 min read23

This past weekend, church had another healing service after Easter.

The sermon was about activating our faith for healing, and not just simply waiting for miracles to happen.

For my brother, I wish he never had the stroke in the first place so this photo wouldn't have happened.

(It's a beautiful photo, by the way. I like it. Shoutout to the church's volunteer photographers who shared this with me.)

We didn't have a strong relationship in our growing years, in fact, there was often a lot of tension and even fights.

Even after what happened to him, he still manages to annoy me with just the limited amount of words he can say a day.

And yet, there's nothing I can do that will reverse the stroke situation.

I can only pray for him and ask for healing, interceding for him.

Putting myself in his shoes, perhaps watching and seeing others get their healing, to move and walk around normally, to sing and praise... normal things is enough to remind him of his situation.

And yet, I think... in a way... God answered his prayers.

When he was younger, he would compare our relationship as brothers to some other relatives who were also brothers.

And he wished that our relationship was like that, being close and connected.

If the strokes never happened, I wouldn't be spending as much time with him.

God works in strange ways, indeed.
