Watch out world – Singapore has a new batch of Firewalkers!
In this post, I’m going to recount the time I spent during Tony Robbins “Unleash The Power Within” 2009 4-day weekend seminar held at Hall 2, Singapore EXPO.
I learned a whole bunch while I was there – watching Tony Robbins teach and helping some people out of their own personal problems LIVE in front of a crowd of 5,000 people from 16 countries. He spoke to and helped a Japanese wife who couldn’t give birth by helping her to see that her happiness does not lie in a child that might never come; another 22-year young Hong Kong woman discovers why she is constantly depressed and over-emotional and how she’s trapped herself into a never ending cycle.

Photo by spike55151Some time back, I had a bit of a revelation – it goes something like this…
Whenever anyone buys a house, a car, or anything and they pay in installments, they are expecting a return for their money. So they continuously give and give… but what happens when they stop paying/giving? Will the car come? Will the house be built? Don’t think so.
So it got me thinking and this revelation came.

I was just having dinner with a long time buddy, Jeremy, and we were on the topic of being a Christian when a particular thought crossed my mind… I asked him: “What are the significant moments in your life that kept you going on as a Christian?”
To my surprise, he said “I’m not too sure”.
I proceeded to ask him about it because getting through life, I personally believe that certain memories and events in our life form who we are, what we believe in and how we live – so it was rather surprising to know my buddy was not sure what kept him going.
To describe it in another fashion, I related to him how life is like climbing a mountain. As you get higher, you “mark” yourself climbing up… mountain climbers would take a stake and “impale” it into the solid rock/ice surface – creating an anchor.

As City Harvest Church (CHC) celebrates it’s 20th Anniversary at the Singapore Indoor Stadium (I absolutely love the tagline by the way), I was once again reminded of my starting days in City Harvest.
This year marks me as a Quarter-Century Young Man As A Decade Old Christian! Meaning – I’ve been in City Harvest for 10 years exactly.

The technical term for blog is web log. Nowadays, a blog can be used for many reasons – it can be personal or meant for business purposes. So it’s interesting (at least it is, to me) how people forget about what it means to blog.
What does it mean? It means…
- Being able to let people know what’s going on in your life
I know this is kind of redundant but it strikes me as stupid when I ask people for their blog addresses and they shy away… saying they don’t want too many people to know about their life. Why did you start a blog in the first place then? Might as well keep a physical book and write your own diary and hope nobody ever sees it.
Yeah, I understand the importance of privacy… but there’s the option of making posts private. Other than that, just having a blog is like having an open diary where the whole world can see it. It’s therapeutic in a sense that it lets more people know what’s going on in your life and thought life.

It’s only a matter of time… about sooner or later.
For most people.
Dad asked me not too long ago questions that were along the lines of – “When are you going to get attached?”, “You need to get married soon!”, “You’ve not even been with a girl before – don’t make me worry for you!” and stuff like that.
Hey, I were my dad, I’d be asking me the exact same questions too.
Am I asking too much for the kind of girl I want to stick around with? Is that too much to ask? I don’t want to be with some girl just to “try out” (even though lots of people have advised me so).

Michael Jackson has passed on… but he lives forever in digital form and we can celebrate his life.
Here are *my* Top 10 Michael Jackson Songs. They are not in order of preference because they’re all great to me and I believe most people will vote “Thriller” as number 1.
Other than being “King of Pop”, Michael Jackson’s also the “King of Music Television” in my opinion… because they don’t make music videos like these anymore.
*NOTE: Some (or most) of these videos may be disabled by embedding but you can still click on the videos to be brought to the actual video on YouTube and you can watch it there!*
Black Or White: Does the lyrics still apply today? Heck yeah. Even more so.

Michael Jackson has died (1958-2009). When I first heard the news from my sister who called me at work, I was a little shaken.
My heart goes out to the Jackson family. I’ve been a fan of Michael since I was a very young kid and I stayted a fan through all the controversies in his life. To know of his passing is indeed saddening.
Here’s a short, little poem I wrote for Michael.

6th of June, 2009. That’s the first day of the Singapore Idol Audition tryouts – the culling round.
Most people think this is the round where they see the judges but the truth is it’s only the round where people see the producers.
I believe they will only let people through based on 2 things: Singing Talent & Entertainment Value.
